Finding a Financial Advisor
A large percentage of my clients have financial advisors. Younger clients are reminded by the advisors to have a will, power of attorney, and advance medical directive prepared. Older clients come in with larger estates thanks to steady investing and guidance from their advisor. The Washington Post ran an article titled "How to pick a financial adviser (could be the most lucrative decision you ever make)". Bruce Horovitz writes about an advisor helps pull your emotion out of investing. He also writes about how a good fit is necessary in chosing an advisor. I deal with large numbers of advisors through networking and helping mutual clients. I agree with Mr. Horovitz on finding a qualified advisor in that you need more than your friend's recommendation. The relationship will continue for a long time and trust is the heart of the relationship.
