A Faith Statement for Your Will

A faith statement is traditionally placed at the beginning of your will. It is an optional opening to your will that permits you to speak your loved ones after you have passed (and anyone reading the will, as your will becomes a public document when you pass). Sometimes people write statements of their faith, beliefs and words of comfort to family. It doesn't have to be elaborate or long.

Here some some examples:

Example Faith Statement (Simple)

I praise God for the life given to me and leave these instructions as a steward of what has been entrusted to me.

Example Faith Statement (Short)

I praise God for the life given to me, my family, my spouse, [H] and my children, [A] and [B].  The Lord blessed me with so much that my cup continually overflowed with love and joy.  As I leave this life I know that being with my Lord and Savior will be so much greater than anything that I experienced here.  My prayer is that, one day, we will all be reunited.  Until that day, live not for yourself, but for God and others.  The blessings will continue to come, all you need do is open your heart to receive them. The greatest gift has already been given, Jesus.  These instructions are given for what had been entrusted to me for the things of this earth

A Letter

An alternative is write a letter to one or multiple people, seal it up and put it in the book with your will.
