FAQ Friday: Specialist

On Friday, March 31st, Attorney, Steven Berger discusses, "What is an Estate Planning Law Specialist (EPLS)?"

Is an experienced and licensed law professional with a thorough understanding of the state’s laws so they can provide a solid plan.

The national association of estate planners offers a certification for estate planning specialists. Must have 5 or more years as an estate planning attorney with at least 40% or more of their practice devoted to estate planning. They must also have 36 hours of continuing education.

Mr. Berger applied for the certification in 2015, completed the exam which tax issue heavy, they also take your liability and business license. Mr. Berger was qualified in 2016. Each year Mr. Berger has to maintain and submit continuing education. He also belongs to the local chapter for Anne Arundel county.
