FAQ Friday: Inheriting Assets

On Tuesday, September 6th, at 11am EST, Steven M. Berger discusses the need to making sure your children inherit your assets if you pass before your spouse?

This can be of concern if your spouse may re-marry and assets could then become theirs before every reaching your children, if at all.

One way is to have a stipulation where some money is immediately awarded upon the first death.

Another more common way is to put assets into a revocable living trust. This should then all go to your children, unless your spouse spends all of it during their lifetime.
