FAQ Friday: Introducing Paula M. Mattson-Sarli
On Friday, July 21st, attorney Steven Berger introduces Paula as our new Of Counsel attorney.
She specializes in estate planning and elder law. She has been practicing for over 17 years. She has a VA (veteran affairs) accreditation.
She chose to practice in elder law because she became aware of the aging community living longer and having a need for care. There is a lot of misinformation out there and she wanted to provide an environment of relationship and care.
Paula has been married for over 20 years. Her father was in the navy for 25 years. Her mother came from Scotland and her and her siblings were all born overseas. During Paula’s last year of law school, her father passed away. Having to handle probate and his estate that did not include a will set the stage for her desire to help in this arena.
Her mother passed away last year in Scotland and both her parents were a factor in why she does what she does.
Paula also practices veteran law. She is limited to working on their pension benefits to pay for their care. She can do qualification planning as well.
She has been a resident of Anne Arundel county since the 1990s when her father got out of the navy. Paula attended Old Mill high school and currently lives in Pasadena, MD. She has a dog named Jasmine, a black lab that she loves very much.
