FAQ Friday: Planning for your future care
On Friday, November 8, 2024, Attorney Paula Mattson-Sarli discusses elder law and planning for this time in their life.
Maybe Medicaid isn’t something you need to plan for because assets are there and income is consistent such as possibly 6-7k. Maybe liquid assets are lower and you worry about the possibility of running out of money caring for themselves in their older age.
We can run calculations based on possible scenarios. Your level of care will also determine whether Medicare would even pay for your care. If there isn’t a need for nursing home care then that would never even apply.
It’s important to strategize and plan for what might be best based on these factors. We work with referral partners and can discuss various options such as hiring in-home caregivers or staying at an assisted living facility.
