FAQ Friday: Survivor's Trust
On Friday, August 20th at 11 a.m. EST, Mr. Berger discusses what a Survivor’s trust is, and why it's needed.
The surviving spouse receives complete control of the Trust and is the beneficiary and Trustee of said Trust.
Half of joint property goes into a survivors trust or anything owned equally. Any separate property owned by survivor can also go into a survivor’s trust.
It can be turned into a revocable trust and re-written by the survivor. It is reported under their social security number. We want to adjust assets to fair market value.
