FAQ Friday: Why does our office use two power of attorney forms?

On Friday, June 23rd, attorney Candice Joy discusses why our office uses two power of attorney forms.

The most common power of attorney is the general durable power of attorney. It is comprehensive and includes any power you may thing of.

This documents introduces yourself, agents and the effectiveness in terms of right away or upon certain requirements.

Article 3 is the bulk of the documents and includes any financial situations that might affect you.

This document also highlights the reasoning behind the document and the reason it would be used.

It shows how you should sign when acting under this document as well.

We also use a Maryland statutory power of attorney which makes it more streamlined and easily accepted with banks. It rarely would get any push back.

This one doesn’t appear as comprehensive, but still lists all the information necessary.
