FAQ Friday: My husband was receiving dividend checks from Computershare from PRU. How do I get the shares in my name?

At our FAQ Friday on March 12th, 2021, Mr. Berger discussed dividend checks.

Prudential and Metlife are common insurance companies that when they went public, issued shares (often 20-30 shares) to their customers and sent those over to Computershare.

Since this often happens without real involvement, there often isn’t a listed beneficiary. To do so, it needs to be transferred to the Estate.

Once you have the letters of administration, you can fill out some forms with Computershare. Your signature will have to be verified.

Keep an eye out for statements or dividend checks.
