FAQ Friday: Probate in other states

On Friday, September 6th, Attorney Steven M. Berger discusses "Probate in other states".

Attorney, Steven Berger recently lost his father and has been handling his probate in Minnesota. Different states use different terms and have different rules. This is one reason we usually direct you to an attorney to have your Will reviewed.

His dad had went to a Minnesota attorney and an informal probate. Claims periods are different, You can’t get appointed until ads are ran. Letters of administration take considerably longer to obtain there than in Maryland.

There isn’t a chance to talk to anyone other than on the phone since they only use regional offices. Using an attorney can make this process significantly easier.
